    Attention-based podcast monetization is being explored within the tech community but no solution has been widely adopted. Most podcasts are monetized through advertising or subscriptions through platforms like Apple and Spotify which help producers earn revenue while also taking their own cut, tying listenerā€™s consumption to their proprietary platform. What is needed is another option for podcast monetization that is as open and standards-based as podcasting itself and that connects support from listeners to the productions themselves.

    The Black Artist Collectiveā€™s platform will model a new, passive revenue stream for artists and curators to add long-term value to their essential work. The Art of Influence project will leverage close relationships with curators to connect black artists with a global network of collectors and art enthusiasts. Online exhibitions, curator ā€œwalk-throughs,ā€ and studio visits will provide a meaningful access point for the public to engage with living artistsā€™ work. By integrating Web Monetization micropayments into The Black Artist Collectiveā€™s platform, even novice art lovers can contribute to artistsā€™ financial wellbeing as they learn more about their work.

We respect the privacy of our readers and listeners and do not use any invasive trackers nor cookies. Our goal with Web Monetization Standard is to use it as an extra revenue stream for our work and empower other small media to do the same. Our motto is "Cultura livre, cĆ³digo aberto": "free culture, open code".
