Santosh Viswanatham is an open web advocate and former Interledger Foundation Ambassador passionate about open source and inclusive technologies. A JavaScript enthusiast and tech speaker, he previously served as a Participation Leader at Mozilla, and his contributions are recognized in Firefox’s about:credits.
Ambassador Project
Santosh worked on strengthening the Web Monetization ecosystem by improving documentation, migrating libraries to the latest specification, launching community guides, and building a contributor recognition program. Through global talks, Hacktoberfest engagement, and community collaboration, he helped expand awareness and participation in open, inclusive financial infrastructure.
Through global talks across Asia and Europe, engaging more than 1,300 contributors during Hacktoberfest, and launching initiatives like Get Involved guides and the Open Badges program, Santosh helped strengthen both the developer experience and global community participation.
What Inspired His Work
Coming from India, Santosh witnessed firsthand how digital and financially inclusive systems can transform lives within a single decade. The rapid adoption of digital payments and inclusive financial infrastructure has empowered millions, bringing small businesses online, enabling instant transactions, and giving individuals access to formal financial systems for the first time.
Vision for the Future
Santosh envisions a world where financial inclusion is seamlessly built into the web.
