Smriti Parsheera

Smriti Parsheera is a lawyer and independent researcher working on issues at the intersection of technology and society. She was an Ambassador with the Interledger Foundation from 2024-25. Her previous experience, spanning over 18 years, included working with the CyberBRICS Project at FGV Law School, Brazil, leading the tech policy work at National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, India, and working with the UNDP and the Competition Commission of India. Her research touches upon the areas of digital access, privacy and data governance, regulatory processes and digital public infrastructure. In 2023, she published the edited book, Private and Controversial, that studied the intersection between public health and privacy in India. Smriti studied law at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore followed by a Masters degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She is completing her PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
