Dr. Allan Davids is the Director of the Financial Innovation Hub at the University of Cape Town. In collaboration with the Interledger Foundation, the Financial Innovation Hub brings together the brightest minds on the African continent to spearhead education, research and innovation in financial technologies. At UCT, Allan also convenes the MPhil in Financial Technology, the only Master’s degree specializing in Financial Technology on the African continent. Allan holds a PhD in Economics, has spent time as a visiting researcher at several leading universities, including New York University, the University of Oxford and Imperial College London, and until 2023, held the South African Reserve Bank Research Chair in Financial Stability.
