Yiannis Giannelos is a Staff Software Engineer at the Wikimedia Foundation, where he works on the Product Infrastructure team supporting Wikipedia - one of the top 10 most visited websites globally. His work focuses on building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems that serve millions of users daily. Prior to Wikimedia, Yiannis spent over seven years at Mozilla in various software engineering roles, working on community tools, support platforms, web compatibility and authentication infrastructure. He was also a co-founder and Board Member of the Libre Space Foundation. Originally from Athens, Greece, Yiannis currently lives in Berlin, Germany, and is an active contributor to open-source projects, with expertise in Python and large-scale web infrastructure.
