Everything you need to build on open, interoperable payments

A laptop showing the Open Payments GitHub repository next to a terminal cloning the project.

The Interledger stack is open source, fully documented, and free to use. Whether you want to run a wallet, create a network node, or read the specs, this is where to start.

The protocols, the standards, the Open Payments API, and the tools built on them are all developed in the open. Anyone can read the code, run it, propose changes, and contribute.

Where to Start

Test Tools

Create a test wallet, make a mock purchase, and simulate a full payment flow from request to approval. You can also test your own integrations on the Test Network (Testnet), an open Interledger network working with test money.

See What’s Being Built

Interledger is developed in the open, and so is its roadmap. Track active work, upcoming milestones, and shipped features across the projects, from Interledger Pay to new remittance corridors and network integrations.

Get Involved

The stack gets better because people build with it and contribute back. There are many ways to take part, whatever your experience with open source.

Build With Us

You can build on Interledger on your own, using the open documentation, repositories, test tools, and community. You can also build with support: the Interledger Foundation funds teams and institutions integrating the stack or implementing Open Payments through its grant programs.
